Unleashed changed everything. it wasn't perfect, but it changed the way Sonic is presented and the way the games are played. it really ushered in a new Sonic era imo.

unleashed had unleashed speed, colors had smoother, a slower gameplay, yet still fast.. and generations has both speed and smooth gameplay. the formula is way better and makes the game an actual game instead of a roller coaster ride.. i like it personally.

@jakeman1245 Generations also had 3D platforming, open environments, branching pathways and so on and so forth, things that were lacking in both Unleashed and Colors. Generations has truly perfected the Modern Sonic gameplay style, too bad Izuka's scrapping it now.

Tell me if im wrong or right
you consider these games a trilogy because they use boost, they have gimmicks, because the Sola Sonica, or because it may have some little story connection between them?
either way, I think its be interesting that these games will be officialy a trilogy

@DRAGOOOOOOOONNNNNNNN What ties them together for me personally is that all three use the Modern Sonic gameplay formula. Sure there will be others after this (hopefully) but I just personally see these three as the trilogy that started it, but it's not official.
