We had a bunch of turkeys running around in the back yard this morning and thought we'd try and see how they'd respond to a green 532nm laser dot. The rest is history...

This is in Massachusetts. There is a flock of about 25 wild turkeys that lives in my neighborhood. How do they just GET in my back yard? The same way that all wild birds get into my back yard: they fly there, hang out for a while, then fly away.

Turkeys, like all birds bob their head upon moving perhaps to get a better sense of depth of things in their environment. Nobody knows for sure.
