Everyone, this is Grillslinger. Thanks for all the responses. You've given me some great stuff to work on. I'll put up other videos soon. In the meantime, I'll focus on hitting my notes more deliberately, embrouchure, and arpeggios (once I figure out exactly what they are, and how to apply them...maybe someone can do a video about them?)
Your bends sound pretty good for someone playing as long as you have. Of course there's always room for improvement.
Timing is pretty decent. May need some work when you throw in a lot of notes.
I noticed you seem quite withheld or restrained when you play certain parts. Like there's not enough volume or power in your breath. Be more deliberate. Play it like you mean it.
Overall I believe you are on the right track and doing quite well. Keep on practicing and don't forget to have fun. :)
Arpeggios are chords played as single notes. Played up- or downwards, or in mixed patterns these are used a lot in traditional music schooling to exercises and for warm up. Basically it helps you to get comfortable with the scale and to play a string of notes in all different combination. It helps you to break free of the ol boring harp riffs (as they are often that what is easy to play). Thats why people say its good for improvisation.
( ie pinch your nose and play, I think a bit through the nose here and there is good to get certain notes and bends, and help with breath control )
Also have you tried tongue blocking? Maybe have a good go at developing that technique, I dont mean octaves but every note, to develope a bigger tone. ( Please temper my advice with the knowledge that Ive only been playing a couple of years, but I think giving my point of view is what this exercise is about )
Congrats on having the intestinal fortitude to put a post up, well done! I think for a 1 yearish player you are going along nicely. Your rythm and timing seem very good to me. Single notes - I dont think air coming through you nose is a big problem, as I think this is a natural body process to let you hit the note. Although I think you could articulate and hit the notes a lot harder.

GermanHarpist, can you give a bit more detail? I am still a bit confused about arpeggios.

GermanHarpist,
Thanks for the reply.

Yeah, a deeper embouchure or maybe breathing technique could improve the sound. Check out ronnieshellist's weekly lesson nr. 12.
