Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
oooooooooo you stink -
@moonrakerafloat just found this and it brings back such fantastic memories for me. Haven't been able to swim for 9months due to a back injury and found myself getting quite emotional reliving what was such a great day. Brilliantly produced film. Kirsty (:

Thank you unclealister, comments like that mean a lot. I do have more projects in the pipeline, but the weather this year, and 'stuff' has put them back a bit.

Ah! Kirsty. You mean to say you didn't know about a video you starred in? :-) Thank you for your kind comments. Sorry to hear of your back problems. It WAS a great day, full of apprehension, emotion and elation, and my intro into the wonderful world of wild swimmers. Not wanting to make it worse, but I'm off escorting another group tomorrow and on Sunday helping a blind man do the swim. Hope to get some video of that, 'bout time I did some more. Hope the back improves soon. All the best. Tony.

Brilliant video. I am a member of Mid-Argyll Tri club and am doing the Corryvreckan swim next weekend with Ali et al. I can't wait and this video has made me even more excited.

Thank you, pleased you liked it. I hope the weather holds for next weekend and you have a great swim. I had planned to be there in Moonraker, but have to go to Glasgow for the weekend instead, so won't see you. Have a good time

How strong are the whirlpools when it's rough? Would it be possible to swim across.
THEDROPPEDSOCK 1 year ago
@THEDROPPEDSOCK The whirlpools are VERY strong when the tide is in full flow, even at neap tides. In strong winds it becomes dangerous for boats in places. The 'whirlpools' are not just horizontal (like water down a plug hole) but also vertical, so the surface water, and anything on it, gets dragged under, sometimes to considerable depth. I think it doubtful that one could survive an attempt to swim across the Gulf at any time other than slack water.
