This is a lesson to help you learn a breakbeat that encourages you to improve your 4 way independence on the kit as well as build up speed and endurance.

The beat you will learn is something I thought of after listening to some Jungle Drum and Bass music. This loosely poly rhythmic drum beat is designed to challenge your 4 way independence skills. Remember to play with a metronome when practising it. I know I don't use the metronome in my videos but I really encourage it. The 32nd note kick drum parts of this beat will help you to learn famous breaks like the amen break as well as improve your overall kick drum skills. The styles of music that I recommend this pattern for are: Live Drum and Bass, Jungle, Breakbeat and maybe Dubstep.
If none of these appeal to you then I'm sure you can adopt it into your playing elsewhere or just use it as a skill building pattern.

  • you are one sick drummer! I tried counting to this in my head and played air drums but this is on a whole 'nother level that my brain can't compute! I am a guitarist though,in my defence, but I would love to learn stuff like this and incorporate weird rythms like this to my guitar playing! damn this is awesome!

  • @snake896 Thanks so much for your positive feedback! I'm Extremely glad you enjoyed it.

  • nice....:D.....how long have you been playing?

  • @DzidzaBV Hey!

    Did the whole video play?

It keeps skipping to the end after about 10 seconds it seems.

I've been playing about 10 years.

    Thanks!

  • @DzidzaBV Oh okay don't worry its playing properly now.

    :-)
