Plants entered land brawls facing mammals; birds took the sky to ward off insects. But now it's time to make the final decision.
The emerald ash borer drilled through the mute swan and feral swine to make it to the finals. In the other corner the beech scale and its fungal sidekick bypassed another duo — the mystery snails — and then went on to defeat the European starling.

One tree cut down was not even an Ash. Save your seeds from Masting, or treat every three years, the Ash that seed in your forest. Tell people they have an Ash and that it can be easily saved, even 500y old ones in the forest preserves. Time to act is now! Good luck from me, Scotty Ash Seed...Chicago "tree-aged" parkway Ashes in my area, Private untreated trees all dead, next to treated healthy street Ashes. THANKS CHICAGO!
