Inspired by Big Bill Broonzy, Rambling Jack Elliot, Alexis Korner and Ewan MacColl, and learning his guitar licks from the likes of Davy Graham and Long John Baldry while playing in the coffee bars of London's Soho during the late nineteen fifties.
