@yetigoose Thank you so much for your reply. I just came back from test driving it, but I didn't buy it. When I got on the highway, there was a lot of smoke behind me. That didn't look good. I thought it was probably the engine burning a lot of oil, but standing still at a parking lot and raising the RPM didn't produce smoke. So I'm not sure what it was, but I passed the purchase. The car had 228,000 miles on it. Thank you again.

Still happy with the car? I'm looking for a similar w124 these days.

Nice car! If you still have it, (and now it's 2011) can you tell me how has the car been treating you? I'm about to buy one with 228,000 miles on it. Thank you,

I have sold the car now, because I returned to the UK. It was a fantastic motor, reliable, fast, comfortable and with loads of room. It was a shame to sell it, it was in such good condition, but I couldn't take it with me. The only negative thing I can say is that it was very thirsty, especially in the winter. I now have a C class saloon, which is OK, but not in the same league as these W124s. The best cars MB ever made if you ask me.
