The Arrows perform their top ten 1974 hit "Touch Too Much." Only a verse and chorus here on this rare clip.
This performance was recorded on telly in 1976.
The trio were Alan Merrill (lead vocals, bass guitar), Jake Hooker (guitar, backing vocals), Paul Varley (drums and backing vocals).
From The Arrows Show, first series.

  • Keith, how did you know about Little Free Rock?? Paul was my best friend, I stayed close to June when Paul went to LA. I truly think that was his biggest mistake.

We'd drank, heck it was the 70s, it was R&R. Along with Pete Way and Mark Ashton we sopped up most of London from the Marquee to the Ship to the Red Lion. But it was all part of the life.

When I knew Paul was off the rails he was way gone even to himself.

What a lad ,ee by gum. What a drummer. Him and Cozy were the best I ever saw.

  • Found out about Little Free Rock from Pete Illingsworth's site. He was the guitar player in LFR. He also has a Purple Haze web site, with Paul on drums. Paul Varley was a great drummer, a bit like like Keith Moon.

  • @TR5T Paul Varley comes up on a search as been with with the band Little Free Rock on Google on page one. Mark Ashton of Rare Bird? Cool! You were hanging with them! Seventies rules!!

  • 0- 0:14 The Sweet with Wig-Wam Bam ??

Sounds a little bit like it, anyway great song!

  • Aha! I would say having the same songwriters on both songs would explain it.

Mike Chapman and Nicky Chinn wrote both the Sweet's "Wig-Wam Bam" and Arrows "Touch Too Much."

  • @Dominik19Z

i can hear God save the Queen by Sex Pistols xD

    only beginning)

  • @Britneyble The Sex Pistols were friendly with the Arrows, and in fact they covered the Arrows song "I Love Rock N Roll" with Joan Jett, her first cover version of the song in 1979 which wasn't a hit. It's on her "Fit To Be Tied" CD and is very good.

  • @KeithTheKing wow! great fact:)

    love Sex Pistols and Arrows

  • @KeithTheKing Look up David John and the mood. Pete's first real band, I was LFR roadie and went on to be tour manager for the ARROWS. The Marquee was up and ruinning so was the Speak Easy. UFO, Rare Bird and us used to hang, the biggest problem was all the management crooks. It was fab looking back.

  • Check out Bring Back The Fire and others by the band theyr,,e great songs.

  • All nicked from Eddie Cochrane-
