somehow looks like a upside-down stall to me

I was worried about mixture when he was doing that nose-up hover while standing next to it. The engine sounded ragged and on the edge of stalling then. Perhaps all that low speed work fouled the plug just enough to cause it to fail later in the routine. Perhaps fuel starvation?

The crash was not pilot error. It was due to engine malfunction. The pilot knew he was in trouble at least 7 seconds before impact. While inverted, you can clearly see full deflection of the elevator as he tried to maintain altitude. The engine was not responding, and this resulted in a stall, which NO experienced pilot would allow to happen at so low and slow of speed. Then the plane either tip-stalled, or the pilot had enough aileron control to go upright, continued engine problems, and crash.
