In Haiti after the earthquake thousands of people were left without sanitation, often camping in tight, compacted and concreted areas where no latrines can be dug. People need toilets from day one, so Oxfam is trialling various solutions like peepoo, and similar bags, as well other innovative methods. The peepoo bags are biodegradable and after use are taken away for composting.

@arjunanatha Hi! Yes you are right, this is only half the story. The other half (video may come later?) is that the used Peepoos can be burried, microplanted, stored for 2-4 weeks to ensure pathogen degradation then sold as fertilizer, or as I am doing in this situation, taking the barrel full of used Peepoos to an urban composting site nearby the camp!
