A Canadian Doctor Describes How Socialized Medicine Doesn't Work

I was once a believer in socialized medicine. As a Canadian, I had soaked up the belief that government-run health care was truly compassionate. What I knew about American health care was unappealing: high expenses and lots of uninsured people.
My health care prejudices crumbled on the way to a medical school class. On a subzero Winnipeg morning in 1997, I cut across the hospital emergency room to shave a few minutes off my frigid commute. Swinging open the door, I stepped into a nightmare: the ER overflowed with elderly people on stretchers, waiting for admission. Some, it turned out, had waited 5 days. The air stank with sweat & urine. Right then, I began to reconsider everything that I thought I knew about Canadian health care.
How is it failed? Please tell me, I'd LOVE to know! I want to live in the USA? Riiight> actually mate, I could easily live there if I wanted to, but I choose to live here. Additionally, my net worth is likely greater than yours. Though I spose I shud stop considering the old adage about arguing on the Net...just like the special Olympics, @ the end of the day the winner is retarded!
Obama gave a speech yesterday with a plan to order high school and college students into government mandated service or they wont graduate. The students will have their service and hours monitored on a hourly basis by local managers.
Obama has to be held accountable for his promise to the American people about campaign finance. That is a law America supports and he has told America he doesnt respect the law.
