It spoke with pompous words (pope) . catholic church was wounded mortally, almost to death in 1798 by Napoleon. the catholic church started in 538 ad in power by constatine, vigilius took the seat as rome handed over its power. 1260 years of rulership as the Bible prophesied.the catholic church uprooted 3 horns or kingdoms (burgundians,vandals, ostrgoths).

Rev 13:4  And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who [is] like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

We then read that at this point he receives power for 42 months(1260 days) and starts to make war with the saints, war with those who refuse to worship him.

The Bible is clear, "And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast." ..."And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed." Rev 13:3 &12 - the would was healed, signaling that the power of the papacy would return.

As a classical philologist, I must say that more than likely the name antichrist refers to Nero the emperor. Full stop. Almost everything scholarly and serious points to this interpretation.

By the way, you should read Hesiod's Theogeny where most of these allegories are stolen from: First there was the ear of Gold, the era of silver, then the era of iron and so on... the problem with christians is hat they don'tstudy any outside sources for cross reference, they just try to prove or disprove anything from within their own book, which was all conglomerated in the Synod of Nicaia...like literally people decided what's gonna be in it or not.

You have a problem here. The papacy in 1789 was long in decline. A mortal wound means that it is killed; the papacy was never killed. Why not 1527 when Charles V took Rome and imprisoned the pope, or 1305 during the move to Avignon? Pastors try to equate the end times with Western Europe when prophecy deals with the Middle East. Walid Shoebat claims that the fall of the Muslim Caliphate in 1928 was the mortal wound, makes sense since the caliphate did die and muslims want to resurrect it.

Those who refuse to worship the image of the beast whose wound was healed. People are spending more time listening to mankind, rather than the bible. The wound which was healed is the main cause of why people worship him during that 1260 years.
