  • Simply Beautiful!

  • @LightSpeed99999 wow cool, were playing it for All-State too

  • @inuiz yep

  • wow this is great

  • I remember playing this for All-State under Peter L Boonshaft. It was epic. This piece is epic. Compared to what I like, some parts were a bit slow and some parts were a bit fast for me. However, they did a fantastic job.

  • That beginning is SOOO gorgeous!!! Gives me goosebumps every time. The power of music never ceases to amaze me! :-)

  • The piccolos are too slow.. Isn't it a triplet?

  • Definitely my favourite concert band piece to play. My HS band played it my senior year and it was fabulous.

  • @nebal95 I found a lot by googling without the middle name. Just go to Jayce Ogren. He composed this while he was a student at St. Olaf College if I remember correctly. He was an assistant conductor of the Cleveland Orchestra for three years. I became aware of him last spring when he stepped on very short notice to replace James Levine with the Boston Symphony for a program that included the world premiere of a song cycle by Peter Lieberson. He sang in an eclectic program in Seattle in Sept 2010

  • LOVE the horn part at 6:30, it gives me goosebumps every time. This is great.
