@TheGapYoukai2012 Actually, the same can be said for Meiko. If you pause really fast, you see that she was friends with Teto Kasane who died before Rin was taken. Hence why she Joined Len. Kaito however... who knows.

I see how Gakupo plays into this story: his mother was supposed to be the next Diva but she committed suicide to escape her fate. So Gakupo joins Len to prevent the same thing from happening to Rin.
