London double decker attempts to squeez underneath a bridge - with disasterous results!

some more information: this was a demonstration to the public to warn people about the dangers of tall vehicles and low bridges. it was staged at one of the most frequently hit bridges in london. the bus was driven by a stuntman.

This reminds me of the time on "Hee Haw" when Junior Samples advertised a "1980 Greyhound bus convertible." He explained that it got that way when the driver tried to go under a low bridge. He offered to sell it to a "family of giraffes," and even said they could call BR-549 collect.

That bus is a Bristol VRT which never operated with London Transport, they are of an NBC standard design although they do in one way or another resemble the great British iconic red bus that is the Routemaster.
