Given the unique nature of the new phone from Microsoft, we have decided to take a different approach to typical Mobile industry marketing. Introducing, a social experiment with the worlds first-ever Socialologist (well, weve never seen one before). The raw, documentary style campaign is embarking on a storytelling journey--to take your online friends, off line: a social experiment embarking on a quest to answer the question: Are your friends really your friends?

Overview of creative:

Enter Rosa, our Socialologist, a real-life, everyday person, who is a social media maven synonymous with this socially-connected generation. She is not an actress. We chose her because she represents the social media guru in all of us... the avid user of Facebook, Twitter and other social media, used for consistent and widespread connections to piers, and others.

Shot documentary style, we started at her home in NYC and are following her as she sets out to meet those people she is friends with in her online social media circle... This includes everyone from true friends, to celebrities, to work friends, to people shes never met face to face.

Kin, as a new product, is the ultimate social experience combining the phone, online services and the PC. It brings together what and who these consumers love in a whole new way by putting people and social front and center. Because Kin is designed for an audience whose social life is their life, whether offline or online, Microsoft and agencytwofifteen developed this raw episodic journey through social media as Rosa meets her online Friends, friends and FRIENDS.

The videos will roll out on facebook.com/kin. But they will be posted in other areas of the web as well, from Myspace to Facebook to Current TV, among others.
