Nice video dude, I play goalie right now and has been playing for over 12 years and I hope to become Pro

So basically when first buying new pair of gloves do you need to wash them the way you just did ? Because supposedly the grip lasts longer, thats what I heard

I had no idea about this when i bought my first, good pair of gloves. Now, the heel of the palms are ripping, and they're basically done after one season. I will get the same style, because they served me well, but i'm gonna take better care of them next time.

Ive been using standard washing up liquid which has been lasting my gloves for ages the goalkeeper glove wash does the same effect.. They just want you to buy it to earn profit when you can buy standard washing up liquid for £1 at your local store which does the same job if not even better

Do u need to prewash as soon as u get them

@Keeperstop nice vid man..!! Thx a lot..!!
All manufacturers suggest to wash the glove before the first use. This washes away chemicals used when the finishing the latex during the manufacturing process which makes the grip better.

I dont wash my gloves after every practice. Every few practices. Better all weather gloves you can use them damp/wet. The gloves will dry while you are using them. If it is in your budget try to pick up 2 practice pairs of gloves and rotate them. When you do wash your gloves hang them and let the water drip out of them. Every so often throughout the next 24 yours squeeze the access water out of the gloves.

@owdamien - Many glove companies finish the gloves with a chemical during the manufacturing process. I was told that is so the sheets of latex do not stick together during the manufacturing process. Giving them a rinse a scrub with your FINGERTIPS can wash it away. I am wearing the HO Ghotta Roll Negative Long. There is a slightly chalky residue on the palm when first taken out of the bag to preserve and protect the palm.. I washed the gloves and the grip is exceptional.

I wash my goalkeeper gloves after a few uses if I have back to back practices or a few in a week. Wash them after a muddy training day or rinse them out after a very hot and sweaty day. You dont want the dirt and sweat to dry in the gloves since it will start pulling the moisture and the grip out of the palm. If you are storing your gloves for an extended period of time you want to clean them first.

If you cant get a hold of glove wash. Woolite can be used. You want a low foaming delicate detergent. As far as keeping a glove continuously wet that is not entirely correct. It is enivitable gloves will dry out. Higher latexes should be damp when using. If you are storing the gloves over a long period of time make sure they are thoroughly cleaned and DRY then you can store them in a zip lock bag.
