Over 1,000 lake sturgeon reared at the Warm Springs National Fish Hatchery, Georgia, were released into the French Broad River at Seven Islands Wildlife Refuge by Chad Shirey, US Fish & Wildlife Service, September 18, 2008. The sturgeon were raised from eggs provided by Wisconsin Dept. of Natural Resources from the Wolf River near New London, WI, in April, 2008. Assisting in the release were several members of the Tennessee Clean Water Network, including Director Renee Hoyos, Doug Peterson (TN Wildlife Resources Agency), and Luke "Bug-Man" Marlowe and mom Holly.

  • Hmm, Lake sturgeon are endangered in Missouri as well. If you catch one you must return it to the water unharmed immediately
