have you tried playing test tones like 30hz or somewhere around there. To see the excursion of a subwoofer you don't really need a lot of watts.

if i used a 30hz tone you would see hardly any excursion come from the sub, the sub is now tuned to 30hz and the sub will show the least amount of excursion near its tuning frequency
