Today Nokia put its flag in the PC space by launching its first mini laptop - the Nokia Booklet 3G. We are bringing our mobility heritage to the PC world. Battery performance and connectivity are two things we know better than any other company, and are huge things in the PC industry,

The Nokia Booklet 3G is powered by the efficient Intel Atom processor, which enables up to 12 hour of battery life. It connects over 3G, HSPA (High Speed Packet Access) or WLAN and for navigation it uses Assisted GPS (AGPS), which finds satellites with help of the cellular network. You can literally leave for work in the morning without your power cable, and be productive all day says John Hwang, head of Connected Computers.

The new mini-laptop has a machined aluminum chassis, measures close to two centimeters thin and weighs just over a kilogram. Microsoft Windows, Nokias broad suite of Ovi services as well as an HD ready 10 inch screen make it an efficient business and entertainment partner. Think about having your kids on the back seat with a Nokia Booklet they can be on Twitter or Facebook with their friends or watch movies during the journey. There are really many opportunities, continues John.

Kai stresses that this cooperation with Microsoft, along with the one announced about a week ago, is by no means a threat to either Symbian or Maemo. Windows is a logical choice for a device in the PC segment, and the agreement announced last week with the Microsoft Office division brings huge value to Symbian.

The Nokia Booklet 3G will be showcased at Nokia World in Stuttgart next week, and more details, like pricing and availability, will be given there. Nokia helped connect the first billion people of the world, and mini-laptops will be one of the devices to help connect the next billion, concludes John.
