"Trench, you may be stranded by police procedure, but I am not."
"And that is what I'd hoped you say."
"Yeah?"

@blacktheknife - I liked the original so much, I can't imagine trying to remake it. David Janssen's voiceovers were so perfect - that too would be hard to replicate. Thought I'd miss Henry Darrow, but Anthony Zerbe was fabulous. Too bad Silverman decided to pull the plug, even though ratings were pretty good. I had trouble adjusting to all the new versions of the opening theme song, but the original and second seasons were my favorites. Didn't really like the 2nd half of lst season version.

This is the BEST theme song for "Harry-O". I always liked it best. It's perfect for a show of this type. Very dramatic.

I really liked this show. Like David Jansen and Henry Darrow AKA Manolito Montoya on The High Chaparral

Warner Brothers is releasing the second pilot "Smile Jenny You're Dead" from the Archive. Hope it's the start of more being available.

@blacktheknife He was in one episode, Kurt Russell, if he'd want to do television he might be able to pull it off with some of the same world-weary experience now as that of Janssen then. Or a Sam Elliott, but he would make a good (and maybe better suited for) Barnaby Jones too. :)

Thanks very much for this. I can't find the info on Facebook but I can hardly wait to see Harry again!
Now we know why Warner Brothers had the YouTube clips removed!

@Freddowasher Warner Archive will be making it available soon according to their Facebook page (Monday).
Awesome show, come on Warner, it's Richard Kimble himself, for pete's sake! What more reason do they need as a sale's pitch. Actually, it's Harry Orwell of course, but you know what I mean. Janssen's best role in my opinion, it fit him to a T. Tailor-made part and perfectly portrayed, and one of the 70s very best crime series, certainly beat all those Jim Rockford ones with their tongue-in-cheek humor that entered/infested the genre by the mid/late-70s/early 80s. Harry O is pure gold.

Oh come on Warner Brothers, release it on DVD! It was great. Best American TV detective show ever.
