Omg I cry now !! I am from austria and I am just 13 years old and I read this book.It was soo sad it's incredible how people exaggerate with the skin colour.I found Mende in Facebook and I am very happy because I think she has now a good life..

i FINISHED THIS BOOK YESTERDAY EVENING, i READ THE LAST 130 PAGES IN ONE DAY, BECAUSE OF THIS EXTRAORDINARY STORY. I WAS HEADING TO MILAN, BUT i DID CRIED READING PASSAGES, IT'S EXTREMELY EMOTIONAL. NOW IS THE TIME TO HAVE A SELF CRITICAL ON OUR BEHAVIOUR TO ONE ANOTHER. IT'S TIME TO FREE AFRICA AND FOR AFRICAN LEADERS TO TAKE CARE OF THE NEW GENERATION. THERE EXIST OTHER TYPES OF MODERN SLAVERY HELD BY EUROPEAN AND CHINESE COMPANY.

she was taken to london as a gift for her masters sister, whos husband worked for the sudanise embassy. They sued the paper for libel because the family didnt want to no that they beat her, Plus, Mende nazer herself was involved in the court case, The sunday telegraph didnt ask Nazer permission to publish the story, and the article also included false infomation. Hence. why it was pulled.

i read it in 2 days.
once your in the book you cant stop reading and this one was really interesting.but it is true that if they made a movie more people would know her story but they shouldn't make it in Hollywood i just have the felling that it would kill the story.if you know what i mean.

i just love this woman. i read the book when i was in kenya and my kenyan friends confirmed there is still slavery. that book really gave me a new perspective on this planet. actually it changed my persepctive on the way black people who are starving or in other needs think of us whites. it made me proud to be european.
