Part 1 of 2: Conservative William Hague gives his reasons on why the government should not allow the people a referendum to decide for themselves to be in or out of the Communist European project - a project the UK was dragged into by Tory traitor and liar Ted Heath in the 1970's.

Recorded from BBC Parliament, EU Referendum Debate, 24 October 2011.

  • @MMRLoonie take a deep breath mate, count to 10 while thinking of fluffy clouds and a the sea lapping on a golden beach. learn to breathe slowly and calmly and tune your mind into your soul. tune in to your surroundings and learn to ralax. trust me mate, you will become a nicer person and respect yourself and other people instead of living your life disliking how yourself and venting your frustration on others. you only got 1 life, dont waste it.

  • You don't speak east of Felixstowe British paedophiles. Go check - AUTISM GENOCIDE (FLICKR).

You tie your youth into 25 year mortgages while pimping out the mans sister/ex/ female friends to the negros. - All the meanwhile your doing buisness on the continent with the schanders that poisioned your people!?

UUURRRGGGGHH KINDERSCHANDER!!!!! IT'S WAR AGAIN DIRTY BRITAIN.

    Yuk. Repulsive Devious Britain.

  • @rugbyboy198127 As Hague stresses, the Tories never promised a "IN-OUT"-referendum - all they said was that there would be a referendum any time there was a further shift of power towards Brussels. In my view, the government's policy is only consistent.

  • An excellent speech with really valuable points, reasonable in its thought and at the same time being aware of the reality. Even though I do not share the British euro-scepticism and would rather give way to a European federalism comparable to the USA model, I must say that Hague's and the government's view are perfectly understandable given the British background.

  • You are a shameful, spineless little boy Hague, burn in Hell or Brussels.

  • EU IS ROME !

  • it's all far too little far too late... this does not placate in the least - come on tories - where's your backbone? just had 12 years of lies and spin - you promised transparency and you promised a referendum.... after referendum we can pull out gradually - we do owe a care of duty to europeans, so ought to pull out slowly with as little negative impact as possible - but we gotta get out out out!
