@rugbyboy198127 As Hague stresses, the Tories never promised a "IN-OUT"-referendum - all they said was that there would be a referendum any time there was a further shift of power towards Brussels. In my view, the government's policy is only consistent.

An excellent speech with really valuable points, reasonable in its thought and at the same time being aware of the reality. Even though I do not share the British euro-scepticism and would rather give way to a European federalism comparable to the USA model, I must say that Hague's and the government's view are perfectly understandable given the British background.
