Disorganized Fun - Ronald Jenkees (Live Drums By Matt Butler)

Disorganized Fun by Ronald Jenkees with some live drums i came up with inspired by ronalds playing. I love the melody of this tune and the feel that ronald brings to all his music, so it was a lot of fun to record something that hopefully musically compliments what he created.

the main focus was trying to play something that feels good but also has some dynamic layers to it.

matt is left handed?

@voidstuff matt is left handed yes. but i learnt drums right handed for 5 years, then re taught myself the other way so im ambidextrous now. its not hard though, thats a myth. it just takes time to develop the coordination in reverse. but anyone can do it.

@drumgroovemusic Interestingly, you're playing lefty on a completely righty kit setup. I'm a lefty and I play with the HH/BD in normal righty positions, but with the ride/crash reversed. I like having the HH and ride next to each other, makes jazz stuff easier. Awesome interpretation of Ronald's song (as is your channel itself!) Keep it up!

@drumgroovemusic Left hand lead is so much more comfortable and really not that hard to learn (unless you've been playing for years in the traditional style then old habits are hard to break). It really opens up the kit and you'll find you can do some amazing things that aren't possible playing traditional right hand. Check out Billy Cobham, who pioneered the style. Amazing stuff.
