Sergio Cardozo demonstrates a cool transition from Timbales with two handed cascara to the cowbell. Then incorporates the drums. Check out some of his sweet rolls. I meet Sergio when I was at "La Ena" National School of Arts in Havana, Cuba summer 2000.

  • Great stuff. As usual, the talent and love of music in Cuba move techniques and musical ideas forward. This is what Martin Cohen should be filming.

  • To me it always seems like Martin is always more concerned about marketing his drums. It's difficult for him to market the Cuban drummers here in the United States. Oh well...

  • Hello Sweavo - this is not me playing it's Sergio from Cuba, however, to answer your question, yes he's playing the salsa bell rhythm and the bongo bell rhythm together.
