Improv #5 "Thunderstorm"

I'm still alive! [t'was a triumph, great success...]

I recorded this about a month ago - sorry, no video. I only had a microphone on me, and I'm still trying to find a video camera for recording.

This improv turned out a bit more harmonious than I expected, so here you are. It's primarily an experiment; there are "mistakes," if you see misplaced harmonies and very intentional accidentals as such. When I improvise, I tend to imagine a scene, like for a film, then fit the music to the mood of the scene. Here I was imagining a storm, so hence the title.

Guy, I gotta say, I love your work but all of your pieces sound too much like kingdom hearts, not an insult, and your jazz was not very successful since you sounded like you were continuosly reverting back to your classical style throughout the song.

Hm, true - Shimomura has been a huge influence for my own style. The "jazz" is probably the closest thing to my own composition for something that might actually fit the game. I can only continue playing and define and refine my own style...

wow.. this is the most beautiful thunderstorm i have ever heard =D.. it'd be cool to hear an "after" version if you went back and refined some rough spots.. nonetheless, great work =) can wait for more

There's a storm outside my house at the moment and this fits perfect. The last time I listened to this during a storm one of the accents of the piece came at the same time as the thunder and lighting. It was brilliant.
