Microsoft's announcements at International Consumer Electronics Show by Steve Balmer were far more exciting than Macworld

Microsoft make some awesome software, but currently that is all they do from home computers, It would be good to see microsoft produce a PC from the ground up as currently they have no control over quality? Do you agree? Until they do this then all there CES announcements will be no different to the last macworld and all about software. Its time for microsoft to be more adventurous maybe? I look forward to seeing there future products.

Agreed, Prestige has a part to play in apple products. But for how i use my computer in my eyes i can not get that kind of usability and quality from the average computer. My 3 favorite makes and designs are Apple, Sony and Alienware. They are all similar prices but due to the OS Apple is my tool of choice.

Yes, there can be an argument to "get what you paid for", but there is also the argument that money spent does not necessarily buy you are better built car. Ferrari and Lamborghini are in the shop quite a bit and we know the history Jaguar automobiles and their mechanical problems. Even Comsumer Reports rates Mercedes and BMW far below in projected reliability compared to cars costing half their price. Macs are more about Prestige than anything else.

You make a fair point,

But in my eyes its like cars, You can buy a cheap run of the mill car or a super car there is a HUGH difference in price but they both get your from A to B. But in the back of your mind you would always want the super car! i am a great believer that you get what you pay for. When i brought my last windows computer i brought a top end sony vaio which was much more than an cheap Toshiba but in my eyes it was a better laptop.

By convincing you that paying $2800 for a laptop is a great idea. Sound like a valid reason? You can get a Toshiba 17" for around $700. Granted Vista kind of sucks, but you can install Ubuntu and be golden. You do know that Macs are nothing but PCs with a tweaked BIOS. I mena OS X is pretty cool but it is not worth $2000.

How can they constantly keep making revolutionary products every year

I don't think n e one can

So now they have more control, which is a good thing

but yeah Macworld 09 was a big disappointment indeed

and to all those who keep bashing the new battery

think about the no. of people who actually use a spare ! {hardly n e}

it's a revolutionary breakthrough accept it !
