Troy changed its name to better reflect its international appeal. It draws most of its revenue from non-Alabama sources and students from not only the Southeast but all over the world. I enjoyed the ASU band, but wondered why the announcer has to keep talking. Let the music do the talking.

I have to say Troy band gave Alcorn their money worth. I think troy did better then Alcorn and im a big HBCU fan. and that annoucer omg who every it is need to be laid to rest lmao

That announcer is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!! Mr. Griffin please get rid of him, because he does not allow you to admire the band due to the fact he is constantly roaring.

Just a minor point, Troy took the "State" out of their name several years ago, and being from Alabama i know they hate that when people say "State". They took the name out to make the university seem more prestigious.

I am a alumnus of Troy University. It was Troy State when I first started and then they changed the name before I graduate. "state" doesn't bother me lol but many alumni still refer to it as that, however the new schoolers will correct you lol.
