I used to get stoned and listen to dion a lot few years back when I was a pizza guy. I would catch some strange looks from time to time in the summer. Also just for fun I had several playlists that went doo wop, crust punk, doo wop and so on just because I love contrasts in sound and like to laugh at peoples reactions. Go from leftover crack to the earls and anyone in your car will think your not right. Been trying to tell my buddies we should start a doo wop core band but no one else is down.

@cloverhole My dad (1938) came to the US in '59 after immigrating from Mexico to Denver, Colorado. Then he moved to SF, California. He sometimes tells me about life back then, and the fashion trends and such. Nothing quite beats stories like that.

If anyone asks me what is doo-wop, I tell them to listen to this song. In my opinion, it is the quintessential doo-wop song. Hands down.

I was born and grew up on my grandparents farm in(1943) rule northeastern North Carolina. My first radio was a Crystal set which required no electricity and was connected to an out side antenna,a wire that was strung from pole to house about 100 foot long, this was my connection to the outside world and all the great songs.I would have to say Brenda Lee was my favorite singer.I not only liked rock and roll but loved them sad country songs.we had a swimming hole on the creek ,life was simple.
