Let's face it; The "winner's" didn't care enough about democracy to want to know the truth. The attitude was "any means necessary" was acceptable.
Sorta like bombing abortion centers and then felt good about letting 6 year olds die from hunger and lack of health care. That's what "faith" means in the U.S.
