Spring break and not having anything to do at home spawns stuff like this.
I made this beast in approx. 2 days total time, spread out in 5-6 sections.

What is happening in the video is that the CPU loads the keyboard buffer to the internal RAM, then writes it back in a reversed order to the screen. After this process, it starts to display a preprogrammed 16x16 black/green image (for eg. a check mark), then it goes into an infinite loop.

The main unit is a 8 bit Reduced Instruction Set Cpu with 3 registers, capable of only simple operations.

= UPDATE =
I went against my word, and built a more robust version of this thing. Now it incorporates some simple address extension, so basically unlimited (~3.4Gb) storage/RAM is available. The other major improvement is in speed! It now only takes 4 clocks to do a full instruction instead of 7.
