Hunger Striker Taken to Hospital

Hunger striker Mr. Julius James was taken to Ottawa Civic Hospital today after paramedics declared his health condition serious. He was suffering from low blood pressure, low blood sugar, and severe abdominal pain caused by a stomach ulcer. His determination to save his fellow Tamils in Vanni is respected and we all hope for his full recovery. The other hunger strikers continued today as their health is also deteriorarting over time. We are with them and our brothers and sisters back home through these hard times. One thing is for sure, freedom and independence is not far away.

My parents left the country about 22 years ago when the war began to escalate. Do you think they wanted to leave the country they were born and raised? My dad would have been killed by a crime committed by racist Sinhalese thugs if he had continued to work in an predominately Sinhalese area. His friends lost their lives... thank God none of my immediate family have died, but people we know have been killed. Is it a sin to be born Tamil? Apparently it is in SL.
