@SarajevoKurac Listen back in the 70s there were governmental grants for help programs in Chicago. There was a place that gave out apartments for no money down on Lawrence Avenue also a Holiday Inn near Marine Drive that was a woman shelter & many organizations that helped the poor. Until Reganomics killed it all in the 80s! The government don't care anymore & all they are doing is making a Nazi idealism New world order, Starting w/the Smoking bans! :P

@Godzie1 No, if the government provided better social programs than everything would be better. Americans are so stupid and think its the people's fault, its not. Point your finger at the government. They're getting rich off the USA and they sponsor social programs to 3rd world countries yet don't even help their own 3rd world. They pretend it doesn't exist.

If every person in the city of Chicago gave one dollar & divided it then gave the money to every homeless person? It would wipe out the homeless problem in the city. $1.00

Back in the 70s, Chicago had many shelters & organizations to help the homeless. Near LAke Shore drive & Foster ave. there was a women & children shelter that they created from an old Holiday Inn & then there was an office on Montrose avenue near broadway who would actually give apartments to people w/no money down needed. This all worked out well until the Reagan/Bush era of the 80s happened. Pacific Garden Mission what I heard is worse then being on the streets itself. Sad!
