Murciélago is a Spanish word, not Italian. In Spanish it means "bat", but in the context of my favorite exotic car from Lamborghini, it's was the name of a ferocious bull. It's not Mercilaago or Marcielaago. It's Mur-ciE-la-go. For Castilian Spanish(Northern/Central Spain) it could also be pronounced Mur-thi.

  • I always wondered why people ignored the OBVIOUS accent mark which falls on the "e" in Murciélago...why the hell do people think the accent is on the "a"?

    Anyway, great video!

  • @jacqueline716 Thank you! Please share it with your friends! Let's Kill the Marcilaago!! :)

  • The word might be Spanish but I speak English, so I am not going to say it the way a person in Spain would....There is no wrong way to pronounce it, didn't you take anthropology? One of the big things anthropology emphasis's is that you can pronounce a word how ever you like.

  • @kirbienstien I'm sorry, but when you speak a SPANISH word, you are speaking Spanish. If you don't want to speak Spanish then don't say Spanish words like Murcielago. I take it you say attash instead of attaché. Balet instead of ballAY(ballet). Order croysants for breakfast? Do you shop at Home DePOT or Deepo? Order entries after appetizers or Ontrays (entrées)? Call HesooS(Jesus) Jeesus? I know it's hard to pronounce, but how you feel when foreigners mispronounce English words? :)

  • @carlylespicks like i said, I am anthropologist and there is no "wrong" way. Language is dynamic, not static.

  • @kirbienstien OK, so I guess you do say DePOT instead of Deepo. The entire point of language is to communicate with others. Proper pronunciation is an essential component towards being understood. If people just pronounce words however they like then others will have trouble understanding them. Ever listen to a foreigner mispronounce a common word and confuse you? What about English speakers with thick accents. In fact if I spoke with my native accent in these videos nobody would understand me.

  • it took a minute for me to pronounce it 100% correctly..hahahahahahahaha

  • Moor- Cia-dfgkljlgkjlfrdjhl haha

  • @carlylespicks I'm saying Murciélago at least 105 times a day. It sounds a thousand times more exotic than the way I used to say it MURSEELAGO, but that's not how I'd spell it lol. Could you by any chance make a video on how to say Koenigsegg, because people are pronouncing it like KONESEGG, and KOWENNEEGSEGG. I just need the real pronunciation, getting tired of hearing all these wrong pronunciations for awesome cars.

  • its lego... merci lego

  • U MAD?
