Live at the AC Temple with Arthur Doyle + Hollow Bush, Demons, Drug Knives. DVD available on AA Records for $12 http://www.wolfeyes.net/aaindex.html

In Birmingham, Alabama there is a fountain at the Five Points. The fountain is of a goat lord surrounded by small animals. Water sprays from the mouths of each animal, the streams cross and a pentagram forms. Birmingham is also home to Arthur Doyle and Hollow Bush (Rodger Stella, Bryan Martin). A collaboration between Arthur Doyle and Hollow Bush is a strange thought for anyone who knows Rodger Stella or has seen Arthur Doyle. Even more complex is the image of the two of them behind closed doors discussing the approach and direction of the set to follow. What truly blew my mind was the set itself. Starting out with Doyle's vocal work alone, the sound had a sparse and delicate feeling. Rodger Stella soon joined Doyle with a mirror of vocal samples. Doyle hears himself, smiles, then stops to listen. What followed was a intricate working of vocal loops and cut up sax with hand over beer electronics. Rodger Stella and Arthur Doyle are an odd couple but some how a perfect match. My favorite performance of the 2007.

This is followed by the latest in live Demons visual music straight from the Invisible Darkness tour and committed to DVD here for the first time.

The night ended with a very rare Drug Knives set - Demons with Stella playing for themselves in the muscle-relaxed atmosphere of each other's company. Drug Knives is just that deep long stare into oblivian.
