Since the nineties, trumpeter Linley Hamilton has been recognised internationally as a musician, educator and broadcaster. His performing credits range from music icon Van Morrison to British vocal great Jacqui Dankworth ('Detour Ahead'), and currently hosts the award-winning weekly jazz show 'After Midnight with Linley Hamilton' on BBC radio. On 'After Midnight' his guests have included Kenny Garrett, Wynton Marsalis and Esbjorn Svensson. 'Taylor Made', his first release in over ten years, heavily features his musical director and pianist Johnny Taylor, a rising star on the Irish jazz scene, in addition to the popular rhythm section team of Ireland-residing US bassist Dan Bodwell and Dublin drummer Dominic Mullan.

I heard this quartet in Dublin at the International last week, and was impressed. John Taylor's tune arrangements are tasty. I especially loved "Throw It Away."
