  • i think the cooler system for the engine broke down on he's car . its electric in this cars cant last for ever , mine broke at 230000 km , i saw it on the instrument panel . that the heat to the engine went up .

  • @rovex32 yes i have the 1.8t and i have the kit installed.

  • @carlson197 ONLY the 1.8 has the head gasket issue and its now been fixed with a kit. Its not hard to do or expensive and many owner fit the kit just in case.

  • Rover 75's are prone to blown head gasket's especially the 1.8 model. These car's are not built to be hammered down a motorway at their top speed. They can't handle it. If you like the look of the Rover 75 the MG ZT can take a little more throwing about that the 75 but still take it easy. If you want a cheap car that you can absolutley thrash the crap out off and will still run without a fault for year's get a Mazda or a older Volkswagen. I always think of rover 75's as BMW's without the badge

  • @ulyseenardin Coolant in the oil is a big deal. Basically lubrication failure and accelerated wear.

  • HGF

  • @bwarrrrk lol exact same thing has happened to me! Head gasket blew, cost over £1500 to be fixed, selling it for a diesel 75 next time...

Brilliant cars but dont get the 1.8s!

  • the head gasket went

    probably

  • @jsj24uk glad to be of service

  • If you want proper Rover engine information, go onto mg-rover.org and get proper informaion from enthusiasts that know and not people that assume about the 'Rover headgasket problem'. Many cars are fine and all he the right servicing should keep your car in working order for a long time. Just never rev engine hard when cold and also always allow engine to get to temperature if going on a sdhort journey. [Just like any car].
