@woodzo40 Idk how much money he makes but he's divorced and he's keeping a roof over his and his 3 kids heads and food in their belly so he must be making enough.
-
@DracoAzule probably does, but does he make much money at it or does he put out 2 or 3 cars a week???
-
@woodzo40 I know a guy who runs his own body shop out of his barn and it actually looks pretty close to that on the inside. He keeps it well maintained.

"We"ll make it right, right away" do you mean you will fix it fast?because the Autobody repair profession is being forced to work fast and less for Insurance companies. So, does that mean you repair car to like making a pizza?I thought, that i takes weeks at times to repair a car to have a Safe and Quality repair. It concerns me when i,m told that a repair can be done in a short time. Are short cuts are being done to get the customer in the door, then stretch it past the verbal commitment stated

@thetrench22 hey i hear u guys im not a pro by any means but i know what ya mean when u say u can see a repair. me and a buddy did a 2009 silverado that the guy bought with 15000 miles and he had a few deep scratches that needed fixed and i asked him if he ever had it fixed before and said its never been touched. i argued with him for id bet an hr before he got pissed and just said fine whatever. and i could clearly see where dirt had been sanded out cuz the clear was smoothe as glass..
-
@woodzo40 lol yeah i do it, family business.. i bet that guy wasnt too happy when you broke the bad news to him..
-
@thetrench22 you got that right. You must do this crap like me. a guy was going on about his truck and i asked him what happened to his bed side he said how in the hell did i know its been painted lol. I shouldnt of said that but it was a brand new truck and i didnt think he knew it has been wrecked. It was good but it was slicker then the rest of the truck.
-
@woodzo40 yeah i know it doesnt need to be slick as glass.. but sometimes the texture is too dry (too much orange peel).. and you have to color sand some also to get nibs or trash out of the paint that may have stuck to the clear while painting.. and i agree with you on being able to tell if its been painted before.. but unless someone knows what to look for and has been in the autobody business before, the average joe cant tell. lol
-
@thetrench22 yea nothing wrong with using a da to dry sand clear first.I agree with ya on that.but why in the hell do you want a collision repair to be slick as glass?Factory shit has orange peal. as i say it you can get one fixed and make it look good. You can get paint perfect. But you cant make it just like factory. I dont give a shit who paints it i can tell its been painted on.lol. i think old boy thought he was da sanding primer lol.
Thats to fucking clean for a body shop lol.
