something i had written a while back, tell me if you want me to continue it.

Chapter One - "Sean"

I watched attentively as she leaped and twirled along the dusty wood floor. She was so graceful and at ease, my heart skipped a beat when she stopped and slightly glared at me from the reflection in the dance mirror. I gave her a sheepish smile and went back to mopping the floor. I looked back up to see her body moving in indescribable movements, and legs elongated with each pose. She was beautiful, her hair in a tight bun and her skirt moving with each step. Her curves fierce through her body suit, she was someone I could only dream about. I shook my head and started moving the mop in circles on the tile floor. The music stopped, so I jerked my head up in her direction. Her chest heaving and beads of sweat were forming on her forehead. She slowly sipped her water bottle not aware I was staring at her again. She leaned down grabbing her dance bag and headed out the back door. I smiled to myself watching clips of her dance in my head. I looked down at the mop and sighed.

I was from the other side of town, I had no choice but to take this job, my father just passed leaving all the debt on my mothers shoulders. This ballet school was only for the people who had enough money to afford it. I leaned against the mop against the wall and walked out on to the dance floor. Her perfume was still lingering there, it smelt dark orchids. I closed my eyes and started to project the dance from my head to my feet. Before I knew it I was on the ground.

"I'ts not as easy as it looks, huh?" I heard from behind me. It was her. She had her arms folded across her chest and her eyes were burning into mine. I chuckled lightly and scratched the back of my head.

"I guess not." I said up to her angelic features. She put her hand out towards me and pulled me up.

"Renee." She said flatly, her hand was so soft and delicate. I was afraid I would break her.

"Sean, nice to meet you." I said gently shaking her hand.

"Mhm." she said pulling her hand away and pressing eject on the stereo behind me. I watched her put it in the case and drop it in her bag.

"Your a really good dancer." I said my eyes studying the side of her face. She smiled a little but soon brought her lips into a thin line.

"Thanks." She answered, not paying any attention to me. I stuffed my hands in the pockets of the jumpsuit. Not knowing what else to say.

"I guess I'll see you around." She said, my brown eyes lost in her green ones. They were like tiny emeralds.

"Yeah." I managed to say. She turned on her heel and exited through the back door. Her hips swayed side to side with each step. I sighed contently and looked up into the wall sized mirror meeting reality, we could never be.

---

I walked into our one story home to see my mom going through stacks of papers. A hopeless expression on her face, she was about ready to give up. I sighed and hung my jacket up.

"Hey mom." I called out from the front room. She looked up slowly and gave me her best fake smile.

"Dinners on the stove, hun." She said gazing at the many stacks of papers in front of her. I nodded and walked into our small kitchen to see green beans and rice in the skillet. I leaned back against the wall and looked up towards the ceiling, wishing life could be different. Wishing he didn't leave. I shook my head and poured the contents of the skillets on a paper plate. I grabbed a fork and walked down the hall to my room. My bed still had the rocket sheets on them, followed by the matching lamp. I sat down on my twin bed and started to eat. I glanced over at my desk to see a picture of me and my dad at my basketball game a couple of years ago. We both looked so happy; it feels like it was yesterday.

-Flashback

The buzzer sounds and everyone cheers.

"The Timberwolves have won!" The announcer bellowed.

I ran over to my parents both jumping with excitement.

"You did it sport." He said ruffling my hair. I smiled up at him as he smiled down at me. He was my role model, the guy I learned everything from. My mom kissed my cheek and giggled.

"Picture time!" My mom's voice rang.

My dad pulled me into his side and we both smiled waiting for the flash.

-End of Flashback

My vision went blurry, tears now falling down my face. A good thing can never last too long. I lay back on my bed, wiping my tears with the back of my hand. No kid deserves this; I'm only sixteen for god sake. I should be with my friends and at parties. But because of recent events I have to stay home and support my family. The only thing I could look forward to now was, Renee. Even though she didn't know it she gave me hope, and the need to go back tomorrow just to see her again.
