  • My dad,Jim Murray, is well remembered for this song- a signature song, of sorts . The live version on the white live album is one of my favs. I love you , Pop !!!

  • I love the Imperials, have for many years. Am so glad to find them on Youtube. Todays music just isn't as good as the 'old' stuff! Well, maybe it's just that it is different. Then again, so am I.

  • @cidspimms - The concert from Baylir University where Jim says "Give me a B flat" then says "I'll flatten it myself" was available on CD at one time on Big God Records. The site had LP's on CD from the days with Jake Hess to their more recent projects. I bought all 3 Live CD's and a few others. Sorry, but do not recall the site name though..

  • @ncmidniter Re: the concert: I can't remember the note he asks for; but I love it when he says, "I'll flatten it out myself." I wish they would release "Live" on cd or even as an MP3. The Lord used this music to speak to many, many people; and what's great is that after all these years he still does.

  • LOVE this song! Just what I needed to hear. After a trying few weeks.

  • This is so cool! My future wife of 33 years and I were at the 1978, FBC (I think) Waco, Texas concert where the "Sail On" Imperials Live album cuts were recorded. If you ever get a chance to listen to that album, we were the ones that started the "Sic 'Em (Baylor) Bears" cheer that Jim Murray commented on. Such a memorable time. I still love the Imperials and got to talk with Russ Taff about that night while on an AA flight several years ago.

  • This brings back good memories. I love the imperials. I can remember when they came to our church in Dallas, in the 80's for a concert.

  • To tnmusicman - That LIVE album you mentioned is a great album! Old black angus cowbell from Jim's grandfather and old stick from drummer Mike - classic!

  • I am a young teenager and I love this music! especially this song. I am not like most kids my age who like heavy metal rock, I can't stand music that the words are inaudible! thank you for posting!

  • @ tnmusicman1 Your dad is off the charts amazing. I was in high school, in a new place in 1981, a Junior, when I met a wonderful group of young Christian classmates. I can't tell you how many car loads of kids went to see the Imperials concert in Shreveport, Louisiana that night. It was life-changing for me, and I'm sure many others. The next year, I was so inspired by what I had heard, I became a dj at KEPT-FM. I'm now 46 and still search for songs your dad has done. What a blessing! :-)

  • I was a college student when this song was popular and found the song inspirational then for sure. Over the years I have never forgotten the marvelous lyrics to this song. I am happy today to find this video. Chris C.

  • Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for sharing!!! Love the Imperials, grew up in the 80's listening listening to them in the youth group, along with Leon Patillon, Mylon LeFevre, Stryper, and other Great artists.
