  • Jesus! He was 50???? He looks 70, or 80! What a tragedy.

  • @jammer70s Very tragic indeed !!!

  • He looks pretty old. He must be like 50 that time. Am I right?

  • @BECKYFUUUN Hi. He died a few months after this documentary was made.

    Age 51

He was 50, when this was made, but looked a lot older, I think.

But the talent still lives on.

  • Thank You for posting these. I have never seen these before. The Sweet is still one of my all time favorite bands.

  • @Slibassgirl You're welcome, all though reather sad to watch.

    Kind regards

    Mik.

  • Brian blamed booze(due to boredom on tour) rather than drugs for his troubles. At a later date he suffered damage to his spine after a spell of illness and he was also involved in a car crash which damaged his ankle. All of these tragic things contributed to the decline of his health.BC's fighting spirit , however, was unquestionable !

  • So sad to see such a beautiful man destroyed by alcohol abuse

  • this is sad his brother died young as well,

  • so sad to see brian in that state

  • Shocking images of Brian Connoly......the man looks already dead here while the other ones get fatter. Very sad to see.

  • if you look good , it seems to me that Steve is allways drunk , i was and i am a sweet fan ........ i knwo there were plans to perform in Belgium, but at the beginning of 72 there were troubles , Steve and Brian were locked up in jail , Brian did not want to perform in Belgium because he was scared that the things happened then near Liege , would bring him back to jail .I never saw them live , Mud and Slade i saw but the Sweet were the greatest in their high days .

  • my first single purchase was little willy .... what a great band of the time ... rip bc xxx

  • Brian suffered tremors, if im not mistaken.

their music has saved me so many times, no matter how hard i hit rock bottom his voice still helps me <3

  • @squiffydoodle he was indeed a beautiful guy~ LOVE his hair!! It is indeed sad to see how this lifestyle affects some~ I think of them as "gentle souls" who just can't handle the fame, invasion of privacy so they turn to alcohol and drugs :(

  • @TheJager1960 I think so too!

  • I was working at Butlins in the 90s and was privileged to see them live in what were some of their last performances. They were f***ing awesome. One of the best live bands I've ever seen. He had to be helped onto the stage and looked like a 'zombie', but when he sang it blew my mind

  • They were good.. sad story, but there is so much good things too.
