For anyone with sensitive hearing this is a background track of music with this video.
This video shows a male Sparrowhawk listening intently for birds in my garden. He keeps an eye on the whole area, me indoors at the window and the sky too. Towards the end of the clip he gives a shake to lose some rain water that collected on his head.
Rainy days always attract more birds to my garden feeders. They come in stops and starts with the tropical looking Goldfinches seeming to be the hardiest staying out there come strong winds, very heavy rain, sleet and snow.
Heavy rain didn't deter the large group of Finches to my garden on this day. However, when Mr Sparrowhawk though he was invited to their rainy day party the revellers either took a little time out or went gate crashing another party in the neighbourhood ;-)
This male Sparrowhawk held my attention for some time, although I can't deny I was a tad nervous for any passing birds that didn't know the party was cancelled. Yes, I know they need to eat too :-)
