No, the Skyline is now what North Americans know as the Infiniti G35. Officially, the GT-R has nothing to do with the "Skyline" marque.

@tyler154tzr because they had to come up with a chassis code name for the gt-r and r35 went along with the tradition however they could not carry over the skyline name since it was already in use for the v36 nissan skyline.

If the new gtr is nothing to do with a skyline y is it a r35 u no one up from they skyline r34 nd the r33 they r all skylines even the r 35 nd yes they making skyline coupes everyone is evo r doin 2 types and suburu i think i should no i do own a r35 nd an r33 gtst

@Bouchaneusmc No, I'm not wrong. Reread what I said. "Skyline" and "GT-R" are two different marques. A GT-R is not a "Skyline" -- it's a totally different model. Today's Skylines are luxury coupes and sedans nothing like the previous ones. The GT-R continues the styling and R chassis code where the R34 left off but the Skyline brand is now separate from the GT-R. Officially they are no longer connected and are two completely different marques, despite the history.

@aaronlua u know that the gtr can go on the road and the pagani cant even go on most race tracks. Oh and the gtr costs around 100.000 euros and the R around 2 million. Whats the better choice of a car now?

@aaronlua Because its not a road car, so it can't hold that type of title. Plus it used Slicks.
