Only because they are amateurs do they only get 3/4 of a mil.. The Gov loves to gives us as little as possible, even when we find the stash of a life time!!

Cotton gloves protect the silver from the organic acids produced by the skin.
However, I’m affright that these treasure hunters might have destroyed valuable information when digging away the soil around the pot. After the removal of the top soil (in order to see what made the metal detector react), one should always leave the final excavation and documentation to an archaeologist. Otherwise the treasure hunter will destroy the very clues that could explain how and why the deposition was made.

I find it stupid that they use cotton gloves to handle the silver coins just to drop it on another silver coin @ 0.16. People need to understand why they use cotton gloves int he first place!
