There was an order from the Palace to the brainwashed soldiers to kill the innocent protesters so he can protect his throne. Bhumibol assigned Apisith as Priminister without election, when the red shirt people protested, Bhumibol knows that his Throne is in danger. Not all Thai listen to Bhumibol, he realized that he can not brainwash all Thai, so he has to do what ever he needs to do to protect his thrones even killing innocent Thai people. We know he did that in the past to his own brother
