We recently had the opportunity to test the Orssom Performance Sidi Over The Radiator Cold Air Induction on a customers VE V6 Sidi Calais. Since it had the following modifications already done to it by another workshop, we thought it would be an ideal situation to run it up on the rollers and do a comparison test between the Orssom Performance OTR and compare it with other CAI's on today market.
Modifications: Extractors + 2 1/2" sports exhaust, Pod style CAI, Custom Tune.
This vehicle made a healthy 176kw's at the rear wheels with the above mods. See Part 2 of this video to see the Pod filter CAI Versus OTR results.
In part 3 we will re tune this vehicle to suit the new Orssom Performance Sidi OTR. By taking some fuel out and running it leaner, we estimate it will make further 4 to 6kw's over the gains in the Part 2 video and another 10Nm's of torque, now that's impressive.

  • 170 kw ? i thort sidi is 210kw ? wtf :\ explain please someone lol thanks ?

  • @Cro4uAnte Hi there, The 3.6L Sidi is 210kw rated at the engine, we are showing you rear wheel figures. For memory stock standard they are rated around the 145 / 150kw mark at the rear wheels, so thats an increase of approx 30kw rear wheels over standard with, intake, tune & exhaust fitted.

  • Hi. I've been constantly checking the site to see when the Sidi CAI is coming out, but i have a couple of questions. 1, Will it need to have a tune after it's been installed, and 2, is it vicroads approved. I rang my Insurance company, and was told i'll be covered to long as it is. Thanks.

  • @Malteser215 Hi, we haven't publicly advertised the intake for sales as yet as we didn't get our full order from the manufacture before Christmas. We do have limited stock currently available and we should receive our full order in the next 4 to 6 weeks.

Most companies will approve an intake if you declare it on your policy, as for Vic rds you will have to check with them as each state has different laws.

  • Just one question.

What are the Power gains on a completely stock standard SV6 (sidi).

-first (With the Growler SS Induction)

    -Second (With Air Hammer Intake)

    -Third (Wtih the OTR CAI)

or if unable to answer for V6, what should be the Expected increase in performance for those 3 listed above for a commodore (Or any car if unable for a commodore) over the standard intake

  • @huss788 Gains achieved on a stock VE V6 3.6L SIDI is approx 6 to 8kw's @ 3/4 throttle on the Dyno.

Reason why we give 3/4 throttle & not full is because the Torque management in the factory computer kicks in & doesn't allow it to make any more power by adding more fuel in & taking out timing.

On the road totally feeling, with instant throttle response, quicker acceleration & a heap more torque.

Q: 1&2 Sorry I wont comment, we only back claims for our product. Can't answer for other Companies.

  • @Belcher1411 Hi there, the OTR kit including the High flow K&N filter will retail around the $595 mark. Check out the website for more details

  • @ducci58 Hi, check the website for updates regarding release dates for this OTR. or email us at sales@otrcai.com

  • @Checkurjocks Hi mate, we have done back to back testing with the bonnet done. The Pod style did suffer a little more with the bonnet down, mainly due to is positioning of intake pick up point and the limited amount of cool air entering behind the headlight . Purpose of the bonnet up testing was to show people the 2 styles of intakes. Over The Radiator style versus Pod Style CAI regardless of brand. Otherwise skeptics would say "how do we really know whats under the bonnet"

  • Awesome i should change my pod to the otr. Shouldn't the test be done with the bonnet down? Would that change the results?
