Nothing really to do with cable stitches - the cable cast-on creates a fairly stiff, non-stretchy beginning to your work.

  • @Glassfox9 I don't have any good photos of it available right now, but if you go to knitty dot com and search for "cable cast on", they have a photo tutorial with nice shots of how it looks on a knitted piece. :) Sorry - YouTube won't let me give you a direct link here.
