User Interface Strategies (UIS) 1988 broadcast of the Serving the User presentation. Topics covered are as follows: task suitable functionality, security, reliability, and availability, standardization, portability, and integration, speed (response time and display rate), input devices and strategies, menus, forms and commands, natural language and direct manipulation, output devices and formats, and metrics (subjective satisfaction, time to learn, speed of performance, rate of human errors and human retention over time).
