  • @bodaciouscowboy this version's by Danny "Kootch" Kortchmar. There are 2 versions on the Original Flying Machine Album. This one and the JT version.

  • was reading 'gracefully insane'... a book about mclean hospital... aparently this song is about his sttay at the mental institution. thought y'all'd like to know

  • From his institutionalization days.

  • yeh this is kootches version

the version off the debut is outstanding

the debut album is outstanding, remember my mam bought it on tape when i was like 5

    thank you mother :)

  • I have an album

    James Taylor

'Rainy Day Man' and The Original Flying Machine

There are 7 cuts on the whole thing - 4 on side A and 3 on side B and both sides have Knocking 'Round the Zoo. Side A's version is lead vocal by Danny Kortchmar (Kootch).

    This is that version.

    Side B's version is JT.

  • Wow...that voice doesn't sound at all like the James Taylor of a few years later. The vocal style is definitely recognizable, though. Thanks for uploading this, I'd never heard it before.

  • WATCH OUT HOOCH!!

  • James Taylor would have made a good R&B singer! Didn't know he had that much soul in him!

  • I'm curious why you didn't include the album cover that this song comes from.
